Flynn & Friends

Mitch Flynn

Ask me about: Biking from Buffalo to Toronto.

Favorite films: Babe and Shrek (funnily moving movies with one-word titles); The Road Warrior and Edward Scissorhands (mythic stories with comic violence); and Groundhog Day and What About Bob (I like Bill Murray).

Thoughts on advertising, marketing, and communication trends: Less is more.

Favorite (recent) book: Between A Rock and A Hard Place by Aron Ralston. He's the hiker who was trapped by a boulder in a slot canyon in Utah, amputated his arm to escape, and lived to tell (and write) about it.

I'm listening to: The Buena Vista Social Club and Jazz 91FM out of Toronto.

What I do when I'm not working for Flynn & Friends clients: Work on the Ride For Roswell; bicycle all over Western New York and nearby Canada on my PMS 123-colored (pencil yellow) Seven Cycles road bike (including this past year a ride around Lake Tahoe, 7 days in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, and 75 miles in Everglades National Park in Florida); seek inspiration; work on our 100+ year-old house; and continue an almost 30-year tradition of weekly pinochle games with my friends Phil, Dick, and Herm.

Things I like about Flynn & Friends: In 2006, celebrating 20 years in business with a group of talented, fun and interesting people.

Favorite quote: "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom." --William Blake.

I have a weakness for: Ermenegildo Zegna suits.

Something I think you should know: I made my stand-up comedy debut several years ago and invited the entire agency, many clients, and a lot of friends to see my psyche get shot out of a cannon. I was high for three months afterwards!
